FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's tennis defeated No. 24 Marian 5-2 earlier today.

The Warriors had a rocky start in singles where Tech dropped the number one match. Vero Jimenez and Marianna Murcia won the number two match 6-4 and Thaina Carvalho and Carolina Fabbri won the number three match 6-4 to keep the Warriors ahead moving into singles.

Jimenez won at the number one spot in singles 7-5 and 6-1 while Abigail Simms came up short in the number two position. Murcia stay dominant at the number three winning 6-1 and 6-0 before Martina Borges fell at the number four with a tie breaker in the second set. Ana Gomez won at the number five 6-2 and 6-4 while Carvalho won again at the number six 6-3 and 6-1 to earn the Warriors the 5-2 win over Marian.

The Warriors have more conference play next against UNOH on Friday, April 9^th at 12 p.m.
