Warriors Swept by Racers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech softball team dropped a pair of conference games to the University of Northwestern Ohio Wednesday afternoon at Warrior Park, falling 5-0 and 2-1.

How It Happened
  • The Racers took the lead right off the bat thanks to a pair of singles and a stolen base in the top of the first inning of game one while a two-run homer in the fourth made it a 3-0 game.
  • UNOH starter Haines struck out 13 batters while holding the Warriors to just four hits, and got two more insurance runs in the sixth as she cruised to the complete game shutout.
  • Tech got on the board first in game two thanks to a sacrifice fly from Meaghan Berlin.
  • After a 45 minute lighting delay, the Racers came back to score twice in the sixth inning to take the lead. Tech had runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the frame, but could not capitalize as the visitors secured the sweep.
