FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech softball team concluded the 2021 season Sunday afternoon with a split against Goshen College on Senior Day at Warrior Park, falling in game one 6-5 in eight innings and winning 7-0 in game two.
 
How It Happened

• The Warrior offense scored five times in the fourth inning to go up 5-0 thanks to three hits and a Goshen error. Hannah Middlebrooks and Emma Kelley doubled in a pair of runs while Sydney Caballero also had an RBI base hit.
• The Maple Leafs cut the deficit down to three runs in the sixth with two unearned runs before scoring three more unearned runs in the seventh to the game up at 5-5.
• Tech had the winning run at second base with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but was unable to get the run across. Goshen followed that up with three straight hits following two quick outs to go up 6-5 in the top of the eighth.
• The Orange and Black got to work quickly in game two as they scored in the first and second innings, taking advantage of four Maple Leaf errors over the two frames to go up 4-0.
• The Warriors tacked on more runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings while Sarah Ratledge scatted four hits and three walks across seven innings to pick up the complete game victory.

 
Tech finishes the season with a 17-27 record and a 5-13 mark in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play.
