MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's tennis team started off the IWU Fall Classic Thursday night with a 4-0 win over Holy Cross College at the Sutter Tennis Center.
The Warriors picked up the doubles point thanks to wins by
Vero Jimenez and Semmie Moore at second flight and
Marianna Murcia and
Thaina Carvalho at third flight with 6-2 and 6-4 decisions, respectively.
Moore made it a 2-0 match with a 7-5, 6-0 win at two singles while Murcia pulled out a 7-5, 6-2 win at two singles to get to match point.
Abigail Simms pulled out a 7-6 (1), 7-5 victory at three singles to clinch the match for the Warriors.
Tech (2-0) returns to action Saturday as they travel back to Marion to take on Olivet Nazarene University at 12 p.m. at the Sutter Tennis Center on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University before heading back north to take on Huntington University at 5 p.m. on Klopfenstein Tennis Courts to wrap up the IWU Fall Classic.
