Men's soccer defeats UM-Dearborn 2-1 in OT

DEARBORN, Mich. - The No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team escaped their trip up north with a 2-1 victory in OT.

Indiana Tech shook off a slow start, which saw them down to the Wolverines (1-6-0, 0-1-0) by a score of 1-0 in the first half. Maxwell Amoako put one in the back of the net at the 68th minute in the second half to tie up the score, his team-leading fifth goal of the season. 

After fighting off the Wolverines' attack which saw two shots and a corner kick in the 89th minute, the game would head to OT. In the overtime period, it was Lucca Motta that had ice in his veins, coming up with the goal on a penalty kick to secure the Warrior victory. 

The Warriors out-shot Dearborn 11-5, and had 8 corner kicks to the Wolverines' 1. 

Jaume Salvado made three saves in the win. 

Tech will (7-1-0) will return to action on Wednesday, as they will host WHAC foe, Lourdes (6-2-0). Kick-off is set for 4 p.m. at Warrior Athletic Field.
