Warriors Remain Undefeated With 3-1 Win Over Siena Heights

ADRIAN, MICH. – The No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech men's volleyball team continued their hot start after posting a 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 27-25, 25-18) win over WHAC opponent Siena Heights Saturday night to remain undefeated this season.

Daynte Stewart had a match-high 22 kills and a .400 hitting percentage to go along with four digs and two blocks. Chase Christiansen added 10 kills with a hitting percentage of .529, three blocks and two digs. Raekwon Rogers also had a stellar performance by posting a match-high nine blocks and adding 6 kills. Rounding out Tech's leaders, Joey Hermes posted 10 digs while Chandler Davis dished out a season-high and match-high 45 assists, two blocks, two digs, and an ace.

The first set showed this was going to be a battle for the Warriors. The two teams traded leads throughout the entire first set. After a service error by Tech, the Saints capitalized by scoring four straight points to take the lead 22-16. However, the visitors were not done yet. With a kill by Christiansen on an assist from Davis, the Orange and Black went on to score the next six points to even things up at 22 a piece. The host were able to take care of business with a 3-1 advantage to finish off the set.

The first set would be the only win the Saints would see as the Warriors would go on to win the next three sets. Similar to the first set, the next three sets proved be a fight. However, the story would be a little different in the second set as Tech would hold the lead the entire time and Hermes would finish the set off with an ace.

The third set started off differently as the Saints would take a 4-1 lead early before the Warriors attacked back to score the next four points to take back the lead 5-4. The lead continued to go back and forth before the host claimed a 18-16 lead after scoring five straight points. The Orange and Black ended the Saint's run with an attack error by the host and a block by Raekwon and Stewart. With the score tied at 24 even, the host scored the next point to gain the advantage before Tech would strike back to win the next three points and go on to claim the set.

The Warriors had an impressive fourth set to secure the victory. Only trailing after the first point and being tied twice, the Warriors dominated the rest of the set to go home with the win and improve to 7-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Indiana Tech will be back in action Tuesday night as they travel to Goshen to battle the Maple Leafs at 7 p.m.
