FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Indiana Tech scored two second-half goals to cancel out an early Cornerstone tally to win another important Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match 2-1. CU stunned the hosts with a fourth-minute goal, but
Lucca Motta and
Douglas Appiah goals after halftime kept the Warriors perfect in WHAC play at 5-0.
Christian Galloway staked Cornerstone to its 1-0 lead on a feed from Boston Knapp off of a well-worked set piece that caught the Warriors off guard in the early going. Knapp re-directed a set-piece delivery back across the face of
Jaume Salvado's goal to an unmarked Galloway for a simple finish from just four yards. Tech dominated the remainder of the opening 45, but could not find an equalizer.
The Orange & Black struck quickly after halftime as
Lucca Motta bumbled a shot over the line after a fine combination between
Brendan Sidaway and
Jaime Rodriguez in the 50th minute.
Despite 24 total shots and 18 corner kicks, it took the Warriors until the 84th minute to produce a match-winner. Appiah ultimately did the damage after
Panagiotis Georgiou and Rodriguez started the decisive sequence with a strong delivery and then knockdown in the box, respectively.
The comeback improves Indiana Tech to 7-1-3 on the year, and completes a strong week that could see the Warriors climb back up toward the top 15 in the NAIA poll.
The Warriors travel to Lourdes University on Wednesday for a 2 PM kickoff at Wildcat Stadium in Sylvania, Ohio.
