FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 14 ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team hosted the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles in the Schaefer Center Wednesday night for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup. The Warriors pulled away from the Golden Eagles to earn an 81-60 victory to remain perfect in conference play at 5-0 and improve to 8-1 overall.
The first half was an even contest, with both teams trading baskets before Tech stretched out their lead in the closing minutes of a back-and-forth first half to an eleven-point advantage going into the break. In the second half, the Orange and Black never let their lead drop below the eleven-point one they took into the half, eventually pulling away for a 21-point win.
Tech shot 46.4% from the field tonight while knocking down 9 threes on 23 shots.
Josh Kline led the way in scoring with 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Grant Smith shot 50% from the floor for 13 points with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Rog Stein and
Cory McKinney were the other Warriors who posted double digits in the points column with 11 and 10, respectively, while Stein pulled down 3 rebounds and added 1 assist; McKinney pulled in 5 boards and dished out a team-high 6 assists.
Tech is back in action Saturday, December 3
rd, when they take on the UM-Dearborn Wolverines on the road. The tip-off for the matchup is set for 2:00 PM. The Warriors are 28-4 against UM-Dearborn winning their last six meetings. 92-74 was the final score in their most recent matchup on January 22, 2022.
