WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The No. 10 ranked Indiana Tech women's wrestling team traveled to Williamsburg, Kentucky, for a two-day event hosted by the University of the Cumberlands. Day one of the tournament was pool play, followed by a bracket format on day two based on day one's results.
On day one, the Warriors won their pool, winning all four of their duals. They defeated Campbellsville Black 36-11, Liberty 49-0, Emmanuel 26-20, and Brewton Parker Blue 29-18 to earn a spot in the Blue Bracket (top two teams from the three pools) for day two. In the Blue bracket, Tech defeated Limestone 41-6 in their first matchup to advance, taking down the Cumberlands Blue 31-15. In round three, they took on Missouri Valley finishing 23-23 but earning the win on a 6-4 tiebreaker. The Warriors won their final two duals 39-9 and 28-21 over Brewton Parker Blue and Campbellsville Maroon.
Ellyana Kuzma was the highlight for Tech winning all nine of her matches. She won all her matches with falls or technical falls, recording all nine wins in 14:11.
Makayla Young went 7-0 of Tech over the weekend, winning five of her seven matches by falls or technical falls, with the last a 19-14 decision. Charmayne Delong finished the event 7-2, winning five of her seven matches with a fall or technical fall.
Tech is back in action in the North Central College Invitational on December 11
th in Naperville, Illinois.
