FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The No. 25-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team was knocked out of WHAC Tournament play on Saturday, falling to Lourdes in the semifinal round by a final score of 89-79.
With a few members of the team and staff struggling with illness, it was up to a short-handed Warriors squad to keep the unbeaten streak alive.
Blake Davison took advantage of his first career start, pouring in a team-high 20 points, knocking down four triples, as well as having one assist, one block, and one steal.
Rog Stein did what he could, scoring 17 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and dishing two assists.
Lucas Lehrman started his first game of the season, scoring 15 points on an efficient 5-7 shooting from the floor while collecting five boards as well.
Cory McKinney played all 40 minutes in the contest, scoring nine points, grabbing eight rebounds, dishing five assists, and swiping the Gray Wolves three times.Â
Due to the missing pieces, the Warriors simply didn't have enough firepower to keep up with the well-coached Gray Wolves. Lourdes connected on 16 triples, shooting 55% from that range, 53% from the floor overall, while Tech connected on just eight. Naturally, the Gray Wolves also were able to score more points off the bench (16-9).
The Warriors will look ahead to March 3rd at 7:00 PM as they'll be looking for their seeding in the 2022 NAIA National Championship Bracket Reveal.
