SYLVANIA, Ohio – The No. 17-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team defeated Lourdes University 63-48, Monday evening inside the Ebeid Recreation Center to extend their winning streak to eight games.
Erika Foy led all players with 19 points while adding six rebounds.
Emma Tuominen and
Bethany Worm each scored 14 points with the former adding five rebounds and the latter collecting eight boards and three assists.
Taya Andrews grabbed a season-best 10 rebounds to go along with six points and four assists.
Both teams were evenly matched throughout the first quarter with the Warriors holding a slim 13-11 lead after 10 minutes of action. Tech started the second off on a 7-3 spurt to push the lead to 21-14 with seven minutes left in the opening half before eventually making it a nine-point game at 26-17 with 4:07 on the clock.
The Warriors began to run away in the third quarter as they outscored the Gray Wolves 18-8 that was powered by a 10-3 run over the first six and a half minutes of the period to push the advantage to 39-24. Lourdes never cut the lead to under 13 points again as the Warriors won their 19
th straight game against their conference foe.
Tech (24-2, 16-1 WHAC) returns to action Wednesday as they host Siena Heights University, who trail the Warriors by three and a half games in the conference standings with under two weeks left in the regular season. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
