FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team won its fifth straight game on Saturday, as they defeated Lawrence Tech, 17-7 at Warrior Athletic Field.
Louis Czech and
Andrew Ryan tied for the game-high, with four goals each. Ryan added two assists, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers while Czech also added one assist, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers while Chad Nebal made eight saves in the cage.
Czech scored the games first two goals at 12:59 and 10:38 before
Samuel Bodley got on the board to make it a 3-0 lead for the Orange and Black. The Blue Devils would put up a point before
Nate Langille would respond to put Tech ahead 4-1.
Emmett Coleman would score twice at the end of the quarter to close it out, with the Warriors ahead 6-2. The second quarter was a bit more balanced, as the Warriors would only manage three goals to LTU's two, with Indiana Tech taking a 9-4 lead into the break.
The Warriors would outscore the Blue Devils 5-0 in the third, with Ryan, Langille, and Czech putting points on the board. LTU opened up the final period with a goal, but the Warriors would respond with three more before the Blue Devils scored two goals in the final minutes. Indiana Tech would earn a fantastic victory, 17-7.
Tech (5-1, 1-0) will return to action on Wednesday, as they'll host #5 Aquinas (2-2, 0-0) at 7 PM at Warrior Athletic Field.
