LAKELAND, Fla. – The Indiana Tech baseball team kicked off its spring break trip to Florida with a three-game set against No. 3-ranked Southeastern University Sunday and Monday at Ted A. Broer Stadium, dropping all three games to the now 24-0 Fire. Tech was swept in a doubleheader Sunday afternoon, 6-2 and 6-0, before falling Monday afternoon 13-7.
Game One Recap
The Fire took the lead in the bottom of the third thanks to a two-run blast by Abdel Guadalupe, who Warrior fans might remember as hitting the game-tying two-run homer with two outs against Tech back in the 2019 NAIA World Series in which the Fire eventually won in extras to eliminate the Orange and Black. Tech cut the deficit in half in the fourth thanks to a pair of Fire errors while a
Christian Mojica RBI single in the eight made it a 3-2 contest. Back-to-back homers from Thomas Broyles and Guadalupe pushed the hosts lead to 6-2 though as they took the opening game of the weekend.
Hayes Sturtsman went six strong innings on the hill, allowing just three runs on seven hits while striking out four in the loss.
Game Two Recap
The Fire jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to three hits before tacking on three more runs in the fifth inning of the seven-inning contest. SEU limited Tech to just three hits as Robb Adams struck out 14 Warrior batters in the complete game shutout.

A one-out triple from
Jayden Reed got Tech on the board in the third while he was driving in by
Parker Bates RBI groundout to cut the deficit in half. The Fire responded with three more runs in the third on a three-run blast by Luis Cabrera. The Warriors did not go down quietly as they got back-to-back RBI singles from
