LIVONIA, Mich. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team extended its win streak to 11 games Wednesday afternoon with a 17-11 victory over Madonna University at the Madonna Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
Louis Czech and
Andrew Ryan had a game-high four goals with the former adding three ground balls and the latter collecting three assists and seven ground balls.
Nate Langille picked up eight ground balls while
Nick Craddock had four caused turnovers.
Chad Nedbal made six saves in the cage to pick up the win.
Madonna started off the game on fire with three goals in the first three and a half minutes, but
Cooper Langille started a 4-0 run with 9:24 to go in the opening quarter to put the Warriors on top.
Brandon Schmehl scored at 8:16,
Josh Bramley tied it up at 7:25 and
Andrew Ryan made it a 4-3 game at the 6:56 mark.
The Crusaders ended the period with two more goals though to take a 5-4 lead into the first break, but three goals in a 1:28 stretch put the Warriors back ahead 7-5 with 6:31 to play in the first half. Ryan tied it up with 7:59 on the clock while Czech scored at the 7:39 and 6:31 marks.
The hosts would not go away however, scored four straight goals to open the third quarter and going back on top with a 9-8 lead and 5:24 to play in the period.
Nate Durham tied it up with 3:25 to play in the quarter while
Nate Langille put the Warriors on top for good at the 2:08 mark.
Czech made it a 11-9 game just 15 seconds into the fourth quarter while Ryan scored a minute later to make it a three-goal game. Tech continued to put balls into the back of the cage of the final eight minutes of the contest with
Joe Solin converting on the power play with 7:57 to go while
Devin Macomber got a score while the visitors were down a man at the 5:56 mark.
Tech (11-0, 6-0 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they host Cleary University. Opening face-off is set for 4 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
