FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team had no problem Saturday afternoon at the Warrior Athletic Field defeating Cleary in a dominant 30-1 performance.
The Warriors put on scoring clinic with 16 different players scoring goals throughout the contest.
Emmett Coleman led the way for the Warriors with a career-high five goals while adding four assists, five ground balls, and one caused turnovers while
Joe Solin added three goals with two ground balls.
Dallen Wirtz had a game-high 22 ground ball while adding a pair of goals and going 27-35 in the faceoff zone.
Louis Czech dished out a game-high six assists while adding two goals and two ground balls while
Blaine Flanigan and
Jonah Jarmus each picked up seven ground balls while Flanigan also had two goals.
Andrew Ryan,
Samuel Bodley,
Devin Macomber,
Jack Marquardt, and
Nate Durham all notched two goals apiece with Bodley and Macomber each dishing out a pair of assists. Other Warriors who scored were
Justin Marquardt,
Payton Kelm, Isiah Flores,
Brandon Schmehl,
Chris Domanski, and
Thomas Melzoni.
Kyle TwoBulls got the win in the cage while Nehamiah Loving-Lewi picked up one save.
Ryan was the first to get Tech on the board with 12:19 left in the first before five more Warriors went on to score, taking a 10-0 lead. The second quarter proved to be no different from the first as they scored 10 more goals to take a favorable 20-0 lead at the half.
The dominant performance continued after the break as
Jack Marquardt got things started for the Warriors, notching a goal 50 seconds into the third quarter. The guests still were unable to answer Tech's offensive attack as Macomber, Kelm, and Schmehl all scored a goal to finish off the quarter, 25-0. The Orange and Black did not let up, scoring five more goals in the final quarter before Cleary was finally able to put one on the board with 49 seconds left in the game.
Tech (12-0, 7-0 WHAC) return to action April 20 at 7 p.m. as they host UM-Dearborn for their final regular season home game of the year.
