FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech softball team earned a split with the (former) best team in the WHAC, the Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines. The Warriors crushed the Wolverines in game two, defeating them by a 11-2 score in just five innings.

The Wolverines struck first in the very first inning, while the Warriors would respond later on in the third.
Emma Kelley flew out to right field, scoring
Maire Trouba on a sacrifice. But that would be the only run for the Orange and Black, as the Wolverines would erupt for a four-run fifth inning, and taking the contest 5-1.
Jaden Romero pitched a complete game, striking out three Wolverine batters.

Once again, it was the Wolverines who struck first in the first inning. But the Warriors weren't going to back down, Kelley would again bring home Trouba, reaching on a Wolverine error. Kenedi Sullivan would then bring home
Kendall Hornung on a sacrifice fly to the right fielder to give Tech a 2-1 lead. Later on in the first, it was
Micaela Iacovetti who singled home Kelley, giving Tech a 3-1 lead heading into inning number two. The Warrior offense wasn't done, Hornung hit a sacrifice fly to center field to send
Alyssa Fox home, and then Trouba would score on a passed ball.
Olyvia Notter then would single through the right side, allowing Sullivan to score, making it 6-1 in favor of the Warriors. The Maize and Blue would score a run in the third inning, but the Warrior offense again had an answer, and then some.
Emma Kelley hit a bases clearing triple, doubling down the left field line, making it 9-2 in favor of Tech.
Olyvia Notter singled to left field, allowing pinch-runner
Carly Basham to score, and the Warriors would take a 10-2 lead into the fourth inning. In the fourth, Trouba grounded out to second, but Fox would score on the play, making it 11-2 heading into the fifth. The Tech defense took care of business, catching the Wolverines trying to take extra bases twice, and then getting a fly out to end the game.
Hannah Middlebrooks had a fantastic outing, pitching a complete game on just 86 pitches to improve to 7-7 on the year.
Indiana Tech (16-19, 9-5 WHAC) will look ahead to Friday where they will take on the Cornerstone Golden Eagles (11-13-1, 6-6 WHAC) at Warrior Park for a double-header, with first pitch being scheduled at 1 PM.
