ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team kept the wins coming Saturday afternoon with a 20-10 victory over Concordia University at Cardinal Stadium to improve its win streak to a program-best 14 games while finishing the regular season undefeated and winning its third straight and fourth-ever regular season Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) title.
Andrew Ryan led the Warriors with eight goals and one assist while
Nate Langille and
Samuel Bodley both had a hat trick.
Tom Piotrowski had seven ground balls with four caused turnovers while
Anthony Tedesco also caused four turnovers.
Kyle TwoBulls made five saves and picked up five ground balls in the cage.
The Warriors got the scoring started at the 11:35 mark with Langille finding the back of the net to start a 5-0 run over the next five minutes and grab control of the game, with Bodley scored at the 6:50 and 6:09 marks. Concordia came right back with a goal in the final six minutes of the quarter before cutting the deficit to three with another goal at the 12:50 mark of the second. The two teams traded off goals the rest of the half with Ryan giving the visitors a 9-5 lead at the half thanks to his 42
nd goal of the season with four seconds left on the clock.
The Cardinals kept hanging around in the third with two goals at the 12:50 and 12:03 mark to cut the deficit to 9-7, but Tech responded with three goals in the final 2:30 of the quarter and five more in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter to push the lead to 18-8 and never lost control of the momentum again.
Tech enters the postseason with a 14-0 record and a 9-0 mark in conference games and awaits the winner of Madonna and Lawrence Tech in the WHAC Tournament Semifinals Thursday. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
