FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech men's volleyball team continued to make history Saturday afternoon as they outlasted Aquinas College in five sets (23-25, 25-21, 25-13, 21-25, 15-12) to win their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament inside the Schaefer Center.
Daynte Stewart had a team-best 20 kills, including the match-winner, while hitting .400 and adding nine digs.
Dante Siracusa had 14 kills with a .333 hitting percentage while
Brandon Jones dished out a career-high 54 assists.
Joey Hermes had 24 digs while
Chase Christiansen had four blocks.
Tech (29-1) claimed the WHAC's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship with the win and now awaits their pool assignment and opponents for the 2022 event, which takes place April 12-16 in West Des Moines, Iowa. The NAIA Selection Show is set for Monday, April 4 at 5 p.m. ET and will be streamed at the NAIA's YouTube page.
