DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Indiana Tech men's bowling team traveled to Davenport, Iowa, over the weekend to compete in the 23
rd annual Leatherneck Classic. The Orange and Black bowled their way to the top position after Saturday's six conventional games with a score of 5,223. On Sunday, the Warriors were back in action with 4 baker games in which they dropped to the 8 seed after scoring 2,734 in their 4 games for a total of 7957. Securing the last spot in the tournament bracket, Tech faced off against Wichita State in the opening round, in which they fell out of the tournament with two losses (236-183, 217-185).
In the conventional games, the Orange and Black had 3 top-ten finishers.
Chayton Bass finished 6
th overall, knocking down 1098 pins in five games for an average of 219.6.
Brandon Haney followed closely behind, finishing 7
th overall with a score of 1083 in five games for an average of 216.6 pins/game.
Alex Horton was the other Warrior to finish in the top 10, sitting right at 10
th overall. Horton averaged 213.6 pins/game for a total of 1068 in his 5 games bowled.
The Warriors have a break in their schedule but resume competition on December 2
nd at the AHBA #3 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
