ANGOLA, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's wrestling team traveled to Angola, Indiana, over the weekend to compete at the Trine Invitational, in which there were multiple Warriors who displayed determination and dominance on their way to the top spot of their respective weight classes.
In the 125-pound division,
Allen Calderon showcased dominance throughout the tournament. He claimed victory in the championship match with a commanding tech fall over Jushawn Ferrell from Alma, securing 1st place.
Landon Buchanan excelled in the 174-pound weight class, finishing 3rd overall. After a setback in the semifinals, Buchanan bounced back to secure a decisive victory over Hutch Lynott from Chicago in the 3rd Place Match.
The 165-pound weight class displayed a solid performance by
Jonathan Kervin, who clinched the 1st Place title with a tech fall victory over Jay Greiner from Chicago after taking down No. 22 ranked Jake Hurst via a 10-4 decision in the semifinal match.
Elijah Anthony demonstrated his prowess in the 133-pound division, earning the top spot by defeating Brett Blaess from Baldwin Wallace in the 1st Place Match.
In the 197-pound category,
Nathan Critchfield displayed dominance, resulting in a 1st-place finish as he secured victory over Danny Lingen from Chicago.
Leonardo Galasso continued the impressive run for Indiana Tech in the 184-pound division, securing the top spot with a fall victory over Ethan Risner from Manchester in the championship match
The Warriors hit the mat again on Saturday, as they travel to Ohio for the Findlay Open.
