LANSING, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team traveled to Lansing, Michigan, to take on Cleary University on Tuesday evening. A dominant second half helped the Warriors get back in the win column and roll past the Cougars, winning 82-62. Tech moves to 2-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
Javal Lewis got things rolling for the Warriors with a lay-in off an assist from
Steve Helm. The Orange and Black stretched their lead to 7 with 11:46 on the clock off a layup from
Brady Titus. Tech maintained their lead through the remainder of the first half but couldn't extend it as the Cougars brought it back to a one-possession game going into the halftime break 36-33. Out of the halftime break, the two teams traded buckets, and Cleary took their first lead of the game, but the Orange and Black responded by increasing the defensive intensity, which resulted in a 16-0 run over a 5-minute stretch that saw Tech extend their lead to 17. From that point, it was all Warriors as they gave the Cougars no opportunity to get back into the game and closed it with a 20-point win, 82-62.
Three Warriors were in double figures in points.
Brady Titus scored 14 points with 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
Steve Helm recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Javal Lewis posted 14 points, a team-high 8 rebounds, and 1 block. It was a team effort for Tech, with 12 players seeing action and 11 players scoring.
The Warriors are back on the court on Wednesday, November 29
th, as they host Lawrence Tech for a WHAC matchup. Tip-off with the Blue Devils is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
