FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team hosted Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening in the Schaefer Center as they looked to add another game to the win column. A solid first half helped the Orange and Black accomplish their goal, winning 91-85 over the Blue Devils. Tech improves to 3-4 on the season and 2-1 in WHAC play.
The Warriors got off to a quick start in the first half, scoring 8 unanswered points thanks to a jumper from
Nigel Martin and a pair of threes from
Max Perez. The Blue Devils answered with a small 10-2 run of their own to knot the game at 10 with 16:11 left in the half. The two teams traded a couple of threes to tie the game again at 13, but increased defensive pressure, and a field goal percentage of 53.13% helped the Warriors go on to outscore the Blue Devils 34-19 in the final 16 minutes of the first half to boast a 15-point lead heading into the locker rooms. Out of the locker room, little separated the two squads. Tech maintained the lead they had established in the first half and led by 15 with 7:15 left in the game. The Blue Devils began to chip away at the Orange and Black's lead and cut it to 4 points off a three from Cameron McEvans with 2:07 left. The Warrior's defensive pressure kept Lawrence Tech's offense at bay in the game's closing minutes, as they held on to win 91-85.
