COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's bowling team started their conference schedule over the weekend as they traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to participate in the 1
st and 2
nd Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamborees. On Friday, the Warriors finished 3
rd of the 14 teams that participated and topped the leaderboard on Saturday, 1
st of 14.
On Friday, Tech scored 7387 (4118 team, 3269 baker) to secure a 3rd-place finish.
Joey Price and
Alex Horton led the way for the Orange and Black with 3
rd and 4
th place finishes. Price bowled 4 games with a score of 909 for an average of 227.25 pins per game. Horton finished with 905 pins knocked down through his 4 games bowled, averaging 226.25 pins.
Brandon Haney had a top-15 finish, scoring 859 for an average of 214.75 through four games.
On Saturday, the Warriors finished 1
st with a score of 7738 (4404 team, 3334 baker).
Brandon Haney led the Warriors as he finished atop the leaderboard with a 988 score through four games, averaging 247 pins.
Chayton Bass was right behind Haney as he finished 2
nd overall while knocking down 966 pins in 4 games for an average of 241.5. Horton finished 20
th overall for the event with a score of 850, averaging 212.50 pins per game.
The men's team travels to Davenport, Iowa, for their next event, the Leatherneck Classic, on Saturday, November 11
th, and Sunday, the 12
th.
