BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Indiana Tech women's wrestling team traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky, to participate in the Mid-South Conference Tournament. The Orange and Black put up 108 points as a team to finish 4
th in the conference.
Makayla Young (101 lbs.) finished second in her weight class with two wins via fall to get her to the final, where she faced Elizabeth Dosado of the University of the Cumberlands. Dosado took the win via 11-6 decision.
Emma Jones (116 lbs.) finished second after she received a bye in the quarterfinal round and winning by tech fall over Shea Reisel to earn a spot in the final against Alexis Medina of Cumberlands. Jones fell to medina to finish second.
Andrea Hernandez (123 lbs.) found herself on the podium as she finished second in her weight class. Hernandez received a bye in the first round and won by fall in the quarterfinal. In the semifinal she won by injury default to give her a spot in the 1
st place match to face Olivia Mottley. Mottely, of Life University, took first in the weight class as she took down Hernandez via tech fall.
Charmayne Delong (130 lbs.) and
Riley Dempewolf (191 lbs.) finished third in their weight classes. Delong won via fall over Cumberlands Zoey Smith in the quarterfinal. Sarah Savidge of Life got the edge on Delong winning via tech fall to send Delong to the cons. Semifinal where she won her final two matches via fall over Lourdes' Brielle Newland and Life's Saynah McBryde. Dempewolf received a bye in the quarterfinal and lost by 4-2 decision in the semifinal before she went on to win her final two duals with a win by decision over Life's Madeline Welch and injury default over Catherine Palmieri.
