FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Over the weekend, Indiana Tech played host for the 2023 men's hockey WHAC Tournament. Indiana Tech won the regular season title, earning them the number one seed in the tournament and a first round bye in the quarterfinals. Indiana Tech waited through day one of the tournament on Friday, as they saw the higher seeded #2 University of Michigan Dearborn, #3 Lawrence Tech University, and #4 Concordia University all go through to join them in the semifinals.

The semifinals saw matchups between #2 UM-Dearborn vs. #3 Lawrence Tech and #1 Indiana Tech vs. #4 Concordia face off against each other. UM-Dearborn got the better of Lawrence Tech 5-1 on Saturday night earning them a spot in the final, while Indiana Tech faced off against Concordia. The Warriors fell behind 1-0 after the first period and couldn't gain any momentum in the second period, as they gave up two more goals, falling down 3-0. The Warriors would get one goal in the third period courtesy of Axel Low, assisted by Cam Chabot, but would ultimately fall 4-1. UM-Dearborn would go onto win the WHAC Tournament trophy defeating Concordia in the final by a score of 4-1.

The Warriors have had a great season so far but are not finished yet. Tech has won the regular season WHAC title, their third in a row, and fell just short of a third straight tournament trophy as well. The orange and black have been near perfect this season, going 31-4 overall and 22-3 in conference play. The Warriors will look to rebound from their tournament struggles with a tune up against Adrian College on Thursday, March 2^nd, before the ACHA National Championships scheduled for March 16^th-21^st.
