Baseball Ends Oklahoma Trip with a Victory

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Tech baseball team finished their trip to Oklahoma on Tuesday as they took down Mid-American Christian University 7-5 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, the home facility of the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Los Angles Dodgers.

Tech started hot, scoring 2 runs in the first inning off a single by Brice Stultz, which allowed Jacob Daftari to score. Stultz himself would later score off a sacrifice fly by Tyler Stahl. Tech extended their lead in the second and third innings scoring 1 run apiece to gain a 4-0 lead. The tide shifted in the fifth inning as the Orange and Black gave up five runs to surrender their lead. In the top of the eighth, Tech drew level as a single from Christian Mojica saw Jayden Reed score, and the Warriors sealed the victory, scoring 2 runs in the top of the ninth inning. A pair of doubles from Ben Morrison and Carson McNulty made up the first run, and a fielding error as Reed put the ball in play allowed for the second run to be scored. Phillip Hobbs closed the door in the final two innings to earn the win as he allowed 1 hit, allowed zero runs and struck out two of the eight batters he faced.

With the win, The Orange and Black move to 11-3 on the season and return to Indiana to take on Indiana University Southeast in their next game on Thursday, March 16, in New Albany, Indiana.
