SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team traveled to Southfield, Michigan on Thursday evening for a WHAC Tournament Semifinals matchup with top-seeded Lawrence Tech University. Indiana Tech had earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and defeated No. 5 seed Siena Heights University (Mich.) on Tuesday earning them a draw with the No. 1 seeded Blue Devils, where Tech would fall 6-20.
Tech got the opening goal of the game from
Da'zah Regusters to give them their only lead of the game at 1-0. The Warriors would battle to keep it close in the first quarter, trailing 4-7 after one. However, the Blue Devils would take control over the next two quarters, outscoring the Warriors 13-0 during that span. Tech would get a couple goals back in the fourth, but the deficit was too large for a comeback on the No. 3 ranked team in the country, losing by a final of 6-20.
Halli Reinhard and
Abbey Wilson each had two goals for the Warriors, while Regusters and
Faith Donally had one apiece.
Sydney Oberdorfer made seven saves in net and had three ground balls to lead the Warriors in the loss.
The Warriors finish the season with a record of 10-5, going 6-3 in WHAC play, finishing in fourth, and falling in the WHAC Tournament semifinals. Tech went 7-1 at home this season. The Warriors were receiving votes in the final Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Top 10 Poll and will hope to get an at-large bid to the national tournament.
