PENSACOLA, Fla. – On Saturday, the No. 2 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team took on Keiser University in the Warrior's third straight National Championship appearance, looking for the first National Title. No. 1 ranked Keiser University defeated the Warriors 15-8 to claim the Seahawk's first National Title.
Keiser opened the scoring with a goal from AJ Badik and never looked back, as the Warriors were never able to take the lead.
Samuel Bodley tied the game at 1s 5 minutes later, which was the last time the game would have a tie. Keiser scored three unanswered before
Nate Langille pulled one back in the second quarter to move the score to 2-4. The Seahawks went on a 5-0 run following Langille's goal to expand their lead to 9-2.
Samuel Bodley scored his second goal of the game in the third quarter to draw one back. The Seahawks stretched their lead out to 13-3 before 2 unanswered goals from
Emmett Coleman, as well as goals from
Devin Macomber,
Nate Durham, and
Josh Bramley, brought the Warriors back within 5 with 4 minutes left. The comeback came up short as Keiser netted two more goals to close out the game and win their first National Title.
The Warriors ended the season with a 17-4 record. Tech finished second in the conference regular season with a 7-1 record while taking the conference tournament title.
