FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team kicked off their home slate on Saturday afternoon with a close fought 1-0 loss to No. 16 ranked Grace College (Ind.).
Coming off a big victory Wednesday night over cross-town rivals, the University of Saint Francis (Ind.), the Warriors came up short against the Lancers of Grace on Saturday. Tech held off the 16
th ranked Lancers in the first half and went into the break tied at zero. However, the Lancers were able to find the back of the net at the 48:46 mark of the second half. The Warriors would hold the Lancers to just the one goal, but struggled to match it offensively, falling by a final score of 1-0. In the contest,
Michaela Bitle was the standout for the Warriors, recording multiple highlight reel saves to keep the Warriors in the game. In total she faced 15 shots from the Lancers, seven of which were on target, finishing with six saves.
Indiana Tech now falls to 1-1 to start the season and will hit the road to play No. 2 ranked Marian University (Ind.) on Tuesday, August 29
th at 7pm in Indianapolis, Indiana.
