JOLIET, Ill. – The Warriors went 1-1 in two top-20 matchups against No. 15 Montana Tech and No. 17 Bellevue University to finish their weekend at the Big Dogs Classic. Tech started the morning with a 1-3 (25-23, 17-25, 20-25, 15-25) loss coming at the hands of Montana Tech before bouncing back in the afternoon matchup with a 3-2 (16-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-13) win over Bellevue to claim their second top 25 win of the year.

Tech started strong against Montana Tech in the morning game as they claimed the first set courtesy of a 5-1 run to end the set. Trailing 22-20,
Jacqueline Allaway got things moving in the right direction with a kill off an assist from
Andrea Schriver.
Noelle VanOort and
Emma Westra finished the run with 3 and 1 kills, respectively, to take the set. Set two started in the Warrior's favor, but Montana Tech kicked things into gear and never looked back as they took the final three sets.

The Orange and Black started slowly in match two, but suffering two 16-25 losses in straight sets lit a fire under the Warriors as they came back strong in the remaining sets to upset the No. 17 ranked Bruins. In set 3, Tech found themselves down 12-10 before Westra sparked a 7-0 run to gain a lead the Bruins couldn't recover. The Warrior's attack improved as the match continued and proved too much for Bellevue to overcome, as they suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Warriors.

The Orange and Black move to 6-2 on the season and look to improve that record as they host Rochester University for their first home and conference match of the season on Monday, September 4, at 7:00 PM.
