ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team resumed their conference campaign on Wednesday night, as they traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to take on the Concordia University (Mich.) Cardinals. The Warriors looked to keep their win streak alive and did just that with a 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-10, 25-15) win over the Cardinals to improve the streak to 7.
Sets one and two on the road were a close battle, with each team claiming one. Tech took the first set 25-21, led by
Taylor Sorg, who recorded 5 kills. With the set tied at 19 apiece, Sorg recorded back-to-back kills to give Tech the lead they would keep for the remainder of the set. Set two favored the Cardinals, but that lit a fire in the Warrior offense as they dominated the final two sets. In the third set, the Warriors sprinted ahead to a 9-3 run and, after a few back-and-forth points, would end the set on a 13-2 run led by
Taylor Paul,
Emma Westra, and
Jacqueline Allaway. The fourth set was more dominance from the Orange and Black, with them never trailing.
Noelle VanOort led things for the Warriors, recording a double-double with 19 kills and 20 digs in the match.
Andrea Schriver, VanOort, and Paul all served one ace apiece for the Warriors, while Allaway led the team with 5 blocks, and Shriver posted 59 assists.
Jacey Blust recorded 17 digs on the night, which moves her up to No. 4 in the Tech career digs records.
The Warriors are back in action on Friday night as they host the University of Michigan-Dearborn, with the first serve set for 7:00 p.m.
