Box Score 2 SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The #6 ranked Indiana Tech Warriors Women's hockey team traveled to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to play a two-game series at the start of the week against the #14 ranked Lake Superior State University Lakers. Tech managed to sweep them with a 4-3 overtime win on Monday night, and a 4-3 win on Tuesday. This moves their overall record to 5-2-1.
In game one, it began with Indiana Tech's
Dakota Bowler finding the back of the net first at 4:43 in the first period, assisted by
Izzy Pettem-Shand and
Emily Harty. Lake Superior State responded at 6:30, and before the period ended, Lake Superior State found the lead at 19:28, making it 2-1 going into the third period. The action picked up again in the third period, with
Dakota Bowler scoring her second of the game for Indiana Tech at 7:24, assisted by Pettem-Shand, evening the score. Indiana Tech's
Halle Murray then followed up with a goal at 9:07, putting her team on top.

Megan Yakiwchuk became the hero for Indiana Tech, scoring at 4:16 to seal the 4-3 victory. Goaltender
Izzy Varner played a total of 64 full minutes, saving a total of 34 shots.
In game two, the period opened with a dominant first period for Lake Superior State as they tallied three goals to make it a 3-0 lead for the Lakers in the first and second period. Indiana Tech fought back in the second half, beginning with
Megan Yakiwchuk's unassisted goal at 12:34 in the second period shortening the Lakers lead to 3-1. The intensity continued in the third, as
Dakota Bowler scored at 2:38 with assists from
Izzy Pettem-Shand and
Halle Murray, narrowing the gap to one goal. Indiana Tech's momentum did not stop as Pettem-Shand scored the equalizer at 4:22, with an assist from Bowler. Indiana Tech successfully completed the comeback as

The Warriors are regrouping for the rest of the week, looking to get another sweep this weekend as they play #13 Niagara University in a two-game series Friday and Saturday, November 1
