MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's bowling teams traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, over the weekend to compete in the Midwest Collegiate Championships at Bowlero Wauwatosa, where the men's teams took sixth (8593), and the women's team finished twenty-fifth (7146).
Kayla Cameron finished first for the women with a 44
th-place finish overall, bowling in five games. Cameron posted a total score of 957 for an average of 191.4 pins/game.
Leah Brazier finished next for Tech with an 866 through five games, averaging 173.2 pins/game.
Meagan Kennedy bowled four games for the Orange and Black, scoring 685 with an average of 171.25.
Jordan Downham was featured in three games, scoring 532 and having an average of 177.3.
Natalie Schildhouse,
Jillian Treska, and Elisabeth Jones rounded out the scoring for the Warriors with scores of 518, 505, and 383, respectively.
With a sixth-place finish in the qualifying rounds, the men's team made it to match play, which features the top eight teams. The Warriors would face off against the Knights of Marian University (Ind.) in the opening round, where they would wall 2-1.
Tuna Boncu led the Warriors for the second straight tournament with a sixth-place finish, knocking down 1141 pins through five games for an average of 228.2.
Brandon Haney finished twenty-eighth overall, knocking down 1078 for an average of 215.6 pins/game.
Alex Horton came in closely behind Haney with a 31
st-place finish with a score of 1074 and an average of 214.8.
Parker Laubach finished next for Tech with a score of 980, averaging 196 pins/game.
Jayden Combs was featured in four games for the Orange and Black, scoring 744, while
Dylan Bulusan picked up the last game for Tech with a 187.
The men's and women's teams are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13, at the Western Shootout at Western Bowl in Indianapolis.
