INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's wrestling team made it four straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament Titles Saturday on the campus of Marian University, capturing the 2024 Men's Wrestling Tournament Title with a team score of 179.5 points, beating out second place Marian, who had 136 points. The Orange and Black had five wrestlers earn individual titles and four second-place finishes.
Elijah Chacon claimed the title in the 157-lb weight class, going 3-0 with a pin over Cleary's Ty Johnson to start his day. Chacon finished his day with two wins by injury default, first over Thade Radosa of Cornerstone 3:23 into the match. In the first-place match, he won over teammate
Nate Wheeler.
Jonathan Kervin won the WHAC Newcomer of the Year award after claiming the 165-lb title. Kervin went 3-0, kicking off his day with a 19-4 tech fall win over Siena Heights' Braden Gariety. Kervin won 12-4 in the semifinal over the hosts Jeff Dunasky. Kervin closed the day with a 17-6 major decision over Marian's Elliott Rodgers for the title.
Sam York took the top spot at 174 pounds with a 3-0 record. In the quarterfinal, York won 9-7 over Dominico Migliori of Lourdes University. York had another win via decision in the Semifinal, taking down Rochester's Julius Polk 9-5. In the first-place match, York defeated Noah Hollendonner of Marian with a 4-1 sudden victory.
Nathan Critchfield took care of business in the 197-lb weight class, claiming the title. After receiving a bye in the quarterfinal, Critchfield won by 15-0 tech fall over Christian DeLuna of Siena Heights in the semifinal. In the final, he picked up a pin over Carter Kroll of Lourdes University in 2:09.
Braydon Erb was the Warrior's lone repeat champion, winning the 285-lb weight class with a 3-0 record. Erb opened the day with a pin over Cornerstones Stephos Georgiou in the quarterfinal and followed that up with a 13-3 major over the hosts Excell Brooks. In the final, Erb picked up another pin on the day over Jackson Schenk to take the title.

Conner Kimbrough, Trebor Stuyvenberg, and
Nate Wheeler finished second in their respective weight classes, teammates
Mike Loney finished third, and
Landon Buchanan, along with
Michael Durham, finished fourth.
The four-time WHAC Tournament champions garnered a plethora of all-conference awards for their performances throughout the year and over the weekend.

Nate Wheeler was the Warrior's WHAC Champions of Character Team representative. The team is comprised of competitors that best exemplify the five core values of the NAIA: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
