Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Warriors Sweep Maple Leafs at Home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team got back in the win column on Tuesday evening, dealing the visiting Goshen College Maple Leafs a 3-0 (25-13, 28-26, 25-21) loss in the Schaefer Center. Tech moves to 7-1 on the season and 2-1 in WHAC play.

Tech came out firing on all cylinders in the opening set, cruising to a 25-13 victory. Daynte Stewart led the offensive charge with eight kills, while the Warriors' defense suffocated the Maple Leafs, holding them to a mere .091 hitting percentage.

The second set offered more resistance from Goshen. Trailing 23-24, the Warriors capitalized on a crucial rotation error from the visitors, which knotted the game at 24. The Warriors' resilience in the second set paid off, as they pulled away with clutch kills from Mason Milan and Ben Rosenow to secure a 28-26 win.

The third set was like the second through the early stages, with the Maple Leafs staying close. However, Indiana Tech's offensive balance proved too much, with five players recording at least 4 kills. The Warriors closed out the set 25-21 to complete the sweep.

Daynte Stewart was all over tonight, co-leading the team with 12 kills and 2 aces while leading the line up front with 5 blocks. Mason Milan contributed 12 kills. Clayton Wheatly matched Stewart with 2 aces. Brandon Jones had a game-high 34 assists. Jacob Carrico posted 9 digs.

The Warriors travel to Elgin, Illinois to compete in the Eagle Classic on the campus of Judson University. Tech will take on Calvin and Roosevelt University on Friday, and the University of Olivet and the hosts Judson University on Saturday.
