FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team took down the Pilots of Bethel University on Tuesday evening in straight sets for their tenth win a row.
The Warriors would take the first set 25-15 after opening up on a 10-3 start to begin play. Bethel would make a run to bring their deficit to three at 13-10, but Tech would close the game on a 12-5 run to take the first set. In the second set, the Orange & Black would open up to a 9-2 advantage, forcing the Pilots into a timeout to try to stop the onslaught. The timeout would help as Bethel would go on a run to get it to 15-12 in favor of Indiana Tech, however the Warriors would keep coming, eventually winning the set 25-18 to go up 2-0. The Warriors would strike first in the third set, but it would be tight most of the way through. With the score tied at 13,
Daynte Stewart would put Tech back on top, propelling them on a 6-0 run to go up 19-13. The Warriors wouldn't look back, holding onto their lead and winning set three 25-20 to complete the sweep over the Pilots.
Mason Milan would lead the Warriors in kills with eight, followed by Stewart and
Ben Rosenow with seven.
Brandon Jones would pick up 20 assists, while
Jon Fonda would make six blocks.
Mario Capo would lead Tech with four digs, while Stewart would pick up five aces in the match.
The Warriors improve to 16-1 overall on the season and 7-1 in WHAC play. Tech will be back in action on Friday, March 15
th in a ranked nonconference matchup with No. 11 Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois at 7pm.
