GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 10 ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team hosted the Calvin University Knights in a nonconference matchup on Thursday evening that saw the Warriors take the contest 17-12.
One minute into the game,
Michelle Farrell would open the scoring, putting the Warriors ahead 1-0. The sides would then trade goals until
Faith Donally was able to rattle off three straight for the Orange & Black to help them build a 6-3 first quarter lead. The Warriors would again win the second quarter of play, outscoring the Knights 3-2 and head into halftime up 9-5. Both sides would score three goals in the third quarter as Tech led by four heading into the final period of play. Donally (2) and
Kylie King would open up the fourth quarter with three straight goals for Tech to go up 15-8 with nine minutes left to ice the game. Calvin would score four goals in the final quarter, but the Warriors would also add two more to leave no doubt and put a stamp on their 17-12 victory. Donally would lead the Warrior attack with nine points on eight goals and one assist, while
Brooke Buhr would add six points on three goals and three assists in addition to eight draw controls.
Da'zah Regusters would cause four turnovers and King would cause three.
Sydney Oberdorfer would play stellar in goal for Tech making 13 saves and picking up seven ground balls in the win.
The Warriors move to 4-2 overall on the season and will face No. 5 ranked Keiser University (Fla.) at home on Sunday, March 17
th at 12pm.
