Warriors Down No. 5 Keiser in Dramatic Fashion

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team braced the snow and wind on Sunday afternoon to welcome No. 5 ranked Keiser University to Fort Wayne for an intense top-ten battle. In thrilling fashion, the Warriors prevailed to down the Seahawks 13-12.
 
The game kicked off with Hayley Frew of Keiser drawing first blood with a goal assisted by Abbey Cannon, setting the tone for an intense battle ahead. However, Tech quickly responded, with Michelle Farrell finding the net to level the score at 1-1. Farrell continued her impressive performance, adding another goal assisted by Kalisha Gilmore, putting Tech in the lead at 2-1.
 
The first quarter showcased back-and-forth action as Madison Andrews and Chloe Foley of Keiser found the back of the net, only to be matched by Da'Zah Regusters off an assist from Lauren Hainlin, ending the period in a 3-3 deadlock.
 
The second quarter saw Keiser taking the lead once again, with Carly Chretien and Sydney Passaro adding to their team's tally. However, Tech fought back fiercely, with Faith Donally and Da'Zah Regusters narrowing the gap to 6-5. Regusters would add another just two minutes later to draw level, 6-6. Two goals in the final three minutes but the Seahawks on top, 8-6, heading into the midway break.
 
As the game progressed into the third quarter, both teams continued to trade blows, with Brooke Buhr and Brook Maul of Tech knotting the score at 8-8. Keiser's Emily McCall and Milena Isturiz managed to reclaim the lead for their team, but Tech's Faith Donally ensured the scoreboard remained tight.
 
In the final frame, the tension soared as Tech's Faith Donally scored a crucial goal, followed by Brook Maul and Michelle Farrell, extending Tech's lead to 12-10. However, Keiser refused to back down, with Sydney Passaro and Mackenzie Gibaud leveling the score at 12-12 in the dying minutes. In a heart-stopping finish, Tech's Da'Zah Regusters secured the winning goal with just 15 seconds remaining, sealing a hard-fought 13-12 victory to knock off the fifth-ranked Seahawks.
 
The Warriors move to 5-2 on the season and will face off against the third-ranked Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on the road on Thursday, March 21, at 12 p.m.
