SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team returned to conference action after a short one-game hiatus, traveling to Sylvania, Ohio, on Tuesday evening to take on the Lourdes University Gray Wolves. Tech fell to Lourdes in a four-set match, losing 1-3.
The hosts controlled the first set, taking an early 10-6 lead, which they stretched to an eleven-point advantage, 24-13. Tech battled back with a 5-0 run but came up short as the Gray Wolves closed the door to take the set, 25-18. Tech found their footing in the second set, as they were the ones to take an early 10-6 lead this time around. Leading 13-7, the hosts responded with a 4-0 run to cut the Warriors lead to two, but Tech answered, holding on to take the set 25-20. Lourdes got off to a hot start in the third set, opening on a 5-0 run. Tech battled back to tie the game at 10-10, but another 5-0 run from the hosts helped lift them past Tech 25-19 in the set. The fourth set was a battle, but the hosts maintained their edge over the Warriors, taking the set 25-21 to claim the match 3-1.
Daynte Stewart led the Warriors' attack with fourteen kills.
Ron Young Jr. led Tech with two service aces.
Raekwon Rogers was a force at the net, with a game-high six blocks.
Brandon Jones led the Orange and Black with 41 assists.
Alex Rosenow had a team-high twelve digs.
The Warriors travel to Mount Vernon, Ohio, for their next contest with the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougars, starting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
