Warriors Fall to Defending National Champs in WHAC Opener

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The No. 7 ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team battled No. 3 Lawrence Tech University in their WHAC opener on Thursday afternoon.

The defending national and WHAC champion Blue Devils would come out swinging, opening up to a 9-1 lead in the first quarter. The Warriors would settle in and keep it close the rest of the way with a 6-10 scoreline through the next three quarters, but the Blue Devils would just be too strong at the start as Tech would fall 7-19 in the end. Brooke Buhr would lead the Orange & Black with five points, scoring three goals and picking up two assists, while Faith Donally would score a hattrick. Buhr would also pick up four draw controls and one ground ball. Sydney Oberdorfer would start the game in goal for the Warriors, but would only last one quarter, allowing nine goals and making one save, picking up the loss. Kat Hoff would finish off the game in goal, playing the final three quarters, allowing ten goals and making five saves.

The Warriors fall to 4-3 overall on the season and 0-1 in WHAC play. Tech will face RV Concordia University (Mich.) in their next game on the road in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Saturday, March 23rd at 12pm.
