FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 9 ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team won their second straight conference game on Wednesday night in their home opener, taking down the University of Michigan-Dearborn in dominant fashion.
Tech would start the game in a deficit early, conceding just over a minute into the game, before
Devin Macomber and
Josh Bramley would put the Warriors ahead 2-1 a few minutes later. However, it was UM-Dearborn who would take control throughout the beginning of the game, leading 4-3 after the first quarter and then 6-4 early in the second. Then the Warriors would wake up, going on an 8-0 run over the final 12 minutes of the first half to build a 12-6 halftime lead. Tech would score first in the third quarter on a
Nate Langille goal, but Dearborn would score a few minutes later to get it back. Both sides would trade goals back and forth in the third, each finishing with three, as Tech would lead it 15-9 heading into the fourth. Again, the Warriors would hit another gear, going on another run to close out the game. This time the Orange & Black would score nine straight from seven different players in the final quarter of play, while shutting out the Wolverines in the process. Langille led all scorers with 12 points in the game, posting four goals and a team high eight assists. Macomber (9 points) and Bramley (8 points) would also play a big role on the scoresheet, finishing in a tie with six goals each. Tristean McKneely was a menace on faceoffs against the Wolverines going 17 for 19 and racking up ten ground balls.
Nick Craddock and
Peter Reilly-Day would lead the Warriors with three caused turnovers each.
Kyle TwoBulls would pick up the win in goal, making six saves.
The Warriors now improve to 3-5 overall on the season and 2-1 in WHAC play. Tech will face Lourdes University on Saturday, April 6
th at 11am in Ottawa Hills, Ohio.
