FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball team continued their win streak, extending it to eleven games with two wins over Madonna University on Monday afternoon to claim their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference title since 2019. The Warriors took game one dramatically on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eleventh inning, 5-4. Game two was more comfortable for Tech, winning 10-3.

In game one of the best-of-three series, the Crusaders struck first in the top of the second inning to grab the early lead. It didn't take long for the Orange and Black to respond as a base-clearing double from
Jack Ferguson in the third inning put the Warriors up 3-1. The Warrior's offense went stagnant over the next few innings, but they held their lead despite Madonna narrowing the gap with a run in the fifth. The Crusaders finally retook the lead from Tech in the eighth inning with two runs, but a clutch base hit from
Eli MacDonald in the bottom of the ninth sent the game to extra innings. After a scoreless tenth inning,
Brice Stultz once again hit a walk-off home run with a ball sent over the right-field fence.
Kade Robinson picked up the win on the mound, throwing 3.1 innings and allowing zero hits. He walked one and struck out one of the eleven batters faced.

Tech rode the momentum from the walk-off into game two as they opened with a three-run first inning to establish some separation from Madonna. The Crusaders were threatening in the bottom of the first, having the bases loaded with one out, but good defense from
Parker Bates at short set up the 6-4-3 double-play to get out of the jam. The pitchers went to work through the next four innings, with neither side surrendering a run, until a single from
Brice Stultz in the top of the sixth scored
Tristan Osika. A two-run long ball from Pablo Rebollar in the bottom of the sixth cut the Warriors lead in half, 4-2. In the seventh, the Crusaders gifted the Orange and Black a couple of runs, walking in two.
Eli MacDonald hit a base-clearing triple off the wall in left-center in the top of the eighth to put the Warriors up 9-2 and later scored on a passed ball to go up 10-2. The Crusaders pulled one run back in the ninth, but it wasn't enough as Tech took the WHAC Tournament title for the first time since 2019.
Zach Zaborowski picked up the win on the mound, throwing seven innings, during which he allowed seven hits and two runs. He walked one and struck out ten of the 29 batters he faced.

The Warriors wait to find where they will be placed in the NAIA Tournament. The Tournament Selection show is on Thursday, May 9, at 4:00 p.m. CST on the
NAIA YouTube channel.
