FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team has released its schedule for the 2024 season and are set to begin play under a new regime, led by newly appointed head coach Keelan Barker.
The Warriors will kick off their 2024 campaign with two home games, the first coming on August 21
st in their season opener against Ancilla College and the second against Indiana Wesleyan University on August 27
th. Tech will face its first road test on August 31
st at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio. The Orange & Black will then host both Huntington University and Grace College to wrap up nonconference play. The Warriors will look to win their fourth Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season title in six years when they open up WHAC play against last year's regular season champions, Aquinas College on September 14
th in Fort Wayne. Tech will then play the WHAC's newest member in Defiance College on the road on September 18
th before heading to Grand Rapids to take on Cornerstone University on September 21
st. The Warriors will play two home games against Lourdes University and Siena Heights University to wrap up September. In October, Indiana Tech will alternate home and away games in the first half of the month before closing with back-to-back games on the road against the University of Northwestern Ohio on October 23
rd and Rochester Christian University on October 26
th. Tech will wrap up the regular season with a home game against Lawrence Tech University on October 30
th. The Warriors will attempt to win a sixth straight WHAC Tournament title in 2024 as the WHAC Tournament is set for November 2
nd- 9
th. The NAIA National Championship will begin on November 21
st.
Head Coach Keelan Barker enters his first year at Tech leading the men's soccer program after joining the Warriors from Bowling Green State University in January. Last season, Indiana Tech would go 14-4-6 overall, and 7-1-3 in WHAC play finishing in second in the conference standings. The Warriors would go on to win their fifth straight WHAC Tournament Championship, defeating Cornerstone University, Madonna University, and Aquinas College in the process. At the NAIA National Championship, the Warriors would tie their best ever finish, making it all the way to the quarterfinal round after a series of three straight upset victories over RV Ottawa University, No. 2 Lindsay Wilson College, and No. 15 Keiser University, eventually falling in penalty kicks to No. 7 Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Warriors had six All-WHAC team selections last season, including the WHAC Midfielder of the Year,
Lucca Motta. Motta would also be named NAIA Third Team All-American and NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team, while Motta and
Luke Jones would be named to the USCA NAIA Men's Soccer All-North Region Team. Tech would also finish with eleven WHAC All-Academic Team members and nine NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
