Women’s Soccer Closes the Season with a Win Against UM-Dearborn

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team hosted the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon in their season finale that saw the Warriors pick up a nice 3-1 win at home.

Coming off a two goal second half in their last game, the Warriors would pick up right where they left off offensively, scoring in less than two minutes against the Wolverines. Georgina Palos Noguer would be the goal scorer and Aubrey Young would provide the assist as Tech led 1-0 early. With Tech holding the momentum early in the game, Michigan-Dearborn would get some back with a goal in the 25th minute to tie the game. However, Tech would regain control when Cassie Palazzolo scored in the 34th minute assisted by Abby Strasser. The Orange & Black would lead 2-1 at the half. Coming out for the second half, the two sides would continue to battle in a close contest with both teams creating scoring chances. Then in the 68th minute, Palazzolo would score her second goal of the match, and fourth in the last two games as the junior caught fire at the end of the season. Tech would hold the Wolverines scoreless in the second half, as they would win their season finale by a score of 3-1. Jillian Lester would also have a good day offensively for the Warriors, recording four shots including one off the crossbar. Sara Cogoli would play outstanding in goal for Tech, picking up the win and making a career high 14 saves in her final match as a Warrior.

The Warriors close the 2025 season with a 3-11-1 overall record and 3-7-1 record in WHAC play. Tech would narrowly miss out on the WHAC Tournament this season as they finish in a tie for ninth place, just three points behind the eighth and final spot to qualify.
