FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team returned to action on Tuesday evening, hosting Cleary University in the Schaefer Center. After a strong start to the contest, the Warriors would come out on top, winning 67-59.
Tech got off to a fast start in the opening quarter. Led by
Madison Vice's six points in the frame, the Warriors would build a lead and take a 22-12 advantage into the second. In the second quarter, momentum would shift in favor of the visitors. With 21 points in the quarter, the Cougars would cut Tech's lead to three points, 36-33, heading into the midway break. Out of the break, the Warriors started strong, opening the quarter on a 10-2 run that would see them take an 11-point lead. Down the stretch, Cleary would cut into the lead so that Tech would hold a 55-47 advantage going into the final quarter. In the fourth, the two sides matched each other in scoring with 12 points apiece, leading to a 67-59 win for Tech.
Ryan Moorer paced the Warriors with 19 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Jaidyn Gulley posted a double-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists.
Taylor Covington led the side with seven assists, while adding 9 points.
The Warriors improve to 5-2 on the season and sit at 3-0 in conference play. The Warriors continue with a home game against Lawrence Tech on December 3, starting at 6:00 p.m.
