Warriors Lock Down First Quarter, Cruise Past Oakland City

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Indiana Tech women's basketball delivered a commanding performance on both ends of the floor, cruising past Oakland City University 89–36 to improve to 8–3 on the season.

The Warriors set the tone immediately, holding Oakland City scoreless in the first quarter while pouring in 31 points of their own. Indiana Tech's defensive pressure and fast-paced offense created an early gap that the Mighty Oaks were never able to close.

Indiana Tech continued to build momentum throughout the game, winning every quarter and showcasing efficient shooting and balanced scoring. The Warriors shot 52.2% from the field and 41.9% from three-point range, while limiting Oakland City to just 26.9% shooting overall.

Offensively, Ryan Moorer led all scorers with 19 points, followed by Gabby Richie with 15 and Taylor Covington adding 11, highlighting Indiana Tech's depth and unselfish play. The Warriors also controlled the glass with a 43–33 rebounding advantage, further fueling their transition offense.

Indiana Tech's complete performance underscored their ability to dictate tempo, defend at a high level, and capitalize offensively as they continue to build confidence moving forward. Tech looks to keep the momentum for their next game on the road at Defiance College taking on the Yellow Jackets this Saturday.
