Box Score 2 FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #7 ranked Indiana Tech Women's hockey team lost both games in two-game series against the #2 ranked Adrian College Bulldogs, losing a close battle on Thursday night on the road 2-3, and 0-4 at home on Friday night. This moves Tech's overall record to 15-9-2 and 9-5-0 in CCWHA play.
In game one, Adrian College opened the scoring midway through the first period at 14:45 making it 1-0. At 6:34 in the second period and 7:22 Adrian College found the back of the net again making it 3-0. Indiana Tech responded at 9:33 with a goal from
Halle Murray, her ninth of the season.
Sylvie Legault and
Arina Jusczak provided the assists, cutting Adrian's led to 3–1. Indiana Tech stayed persistent and struck again at 15:07, as
Dakota Bowler scored her 15th goal of the season, assisted by
Hailey Anderson, to bring the Warriors within one goal. Despite the late push, Indiana Tech couldn't find the equalizer losing 2-3 on the road. Goaltender
Izzy Varner played a total of 59 minutes and 15 seconds saving a total of 25 shots.
In game two, Adrian opened the scoring at 13:08 on the power play making it 1-0. Just over two minutes later, at 15:39 Adrian put another one on the board. Late in the second period Adrian scored their third goal to make it 3-0 and scored again in the third period capping it off at 4-0 to take down the Warriors as Tech struggled to get things going in this one, wrapping up a tough six game stretch with six ranked matchups over the last 14 days. The Warriors are back in action next weekend hoping to turn things around against Aquinas College for a two-game series. They play Friday, February 7th on the road in Byron Center, Michigan at 2:30pm and Saturday, February 8th at 4pm at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
