SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team was back in action on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Sylvania, Ohio, to take on Lourdes University in a WHAC showdown. Looking to complete the season sweep of the Gray Wolves, the Warriors were unsuccessful on the road as the hosts held strong to win 83-77 over Tech.
Tech got off to the start they were looking for as they opened the scoring and controlled the opening ten minutes of the first half, building a lead to as much as seven. Across the next few minutes, the Gray Wolves battled back, taking their first lead of the competition. With just over six minutes to go in the first, the tides started to favor the hosts as the Gray Wolves would extend their lead to a seven-point advantage, 44-37, headed into the locker room. Out of the break, the Warriors opened on an 11-3 run, which put them back in front, but the lead was short-lived as the Gray Wolves stormed back with a 13-2 run, which put them up by 10. The Orange and Black battled back and cut the lead to two points but were unable to overcome the deficit as the hosts held on to win 83-77.
Blake Davison led the Warriors with 29 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Crew Gibson added 15 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.
Javel Lewis tallied 14 points, seven rebounds, and one block.
Tech drops to 19-6 on the season and sits at 16-2 in the WHAC. The Warriors travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Wednesday, February 19, to take on Concordia University in their next contest. Tip-off with the Cardinals is set for 7:00 p.m.
