FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #6 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team opened their home slate against RV Benedictine College (Kan.) on Sunday afternoon looking to build on their 3-0 start to the season entering the contest.
Redshirt-sophomore
Zach Spisz would start the scoring for Tech just over a minute into the game against the Ravens as nine goals would be scored across the first period, setting the tone for a high scoring affair. Five different Warriors would chip in on the action early to help put Tech ahead 6-3 after 15 minutes of play, with
Devin Macomber scoring twice. The second quarter would go back and forth as the two sides traded goals, alternating the first six, before Tech closed on a 3-1 run finished off by redshirt-freshman
Carter Krizmanich with eight seconds left in the half to put them up 11-7 at the break. The Warriors would slowly start to increase their leas, outscoring the Ravens 5-3 in the third quarter to make it 16-10 with one quarter to go. Benedictine would cut the lead back down to five on two separate occasions in the fourth but would not get any closer than that as Macomber scored the final two goals of the game in the closing minutes to ice it. The Warriors would finish with a 20-13 victory, making it the third 20+ goal game as they move to 4-0 to start the year.
Macomber would lead the Warriors across the board on offense racking up team highs in points (9), goals (6), and assists (3).
