Men’s Lacrosse Opens Season with Dominate Wins Over Montreat and SCAD-Savannah

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. – The #6 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team started the 2025 campaign on Saturday afternoon with a game against Montreat College in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The Warriors would dominate in the opener with a 22-8 rout over the Cavaliers. Tech would follow that up with a neutral site, top ten matchup against #9 SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) on Sunday afternoon on the campus of Montreat, where the Warriors would beat the Bees 17-5.

On Saturday, Montreat would get on the board first, but Devin Macomber would score the first of five unanswered for the Warriors as they took a 5-1 lead in the first quarter. Jake Deacon and Josh Bramley would pick up goals just 15 seconds apart in the final 30 seconds of the opening quarter to make it 7-2 Tech after one. Montreat would score the first two goals in the second quarter, but Tech would answer with three of their own, taking a 10-4 lead into halftime. The Orange & Black would dominate in the third quarter winning it 7-1, with Macomber putting up a hattrick in the quarter alone to get to six on the day, while Bramley added his third and fourth of the day in the third. With the game in hand, the Warriors would coast through the fourth quarter. Cam Fewster would score the final three goals for the Warriors to pick up a hattrick and finish with four goals in a six-point game on his Tech debut. Macomber would lead the way with eight points from six goals and two assists, while Cooper Langille would add five points on two goals and three assists. Kyle TwoBulls would get the start for the Warriors in goal, picking up the 22-8 win. TwoBulls would play the first three quarters making nine saves and allowing five goals. Nehemiah Loving-Lewis would play the final quarter in goal for the Warriors, making one save and allowing three goals.

On Sunday, the Warriors would battle #9 SCAD-Savannah in an early season top ten showdown. However, it was all Indiana Tech in this one as the Warrior offense was scorching hot in the opening weekend of the season. Jake Deacon would score the opener against the Bees just over a minute into the game and Devin Macomber would add a first quarter hattrick as the Warriors would lead 6-0 by the end of the period. Savannah would get on the board in the second quarter, but Ryan Tedesco would score two in the period to help give Tech a 10-3 lead going into halftime. Deacon and Tedesco would both complete hattricks in the second half as the Warriors would add seven more goals, while holding the Bees to just two in the half, winning by a final of 17-5. Macomber carried over his hot start from Saturday's game into Sunday, leading the Warriors again with five goals and points. Deacon would also finish with five points on three goals and two assists. Kyle TwoBulls would play the full 60 minutes in goal for the Warriors, making 15 saves and picking up an assist on a Ryan Tedesco goal in the second quarter.

The Warriors move to 2-0 to start the season and will play William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri in their next game on Saturday, February 15th, before taking on Missouri Baptist on Sunday, February 16th in St. Louis, Missouri to wrap up their four-game road trip.
